Deloitte worked with the NHS to create a set of tools to help the NHS model, analyse and predict risk within the workforce and therefore help them to target resources appropriately.

Working with key stakeholders from clinicians to workforce managers and performance analysts we:

  • created a network of risk indicators and triggers to reflect best practice, published literature and established working practices;
  • developed a risk management framework which applied these indicators to nationally available data to provide an at-a-glance view of risk; and
  • created a series of predictive analytic algorithms to intelligently project future risk based on previous trends and knowledge of data quality.

As well as being intuitive to use, our solution had to be dynamic and sustainable – the availability and format of data within the NHS changes frequently. We therefore developed a highly configurable system supported by a flexible managed analytic service to undertake the process of loading new data sets, maintaining business rules, and maintaining and updating analytic routines.
