About Deloitte’s TMT Predictions

This 15th edition of Deloitte's Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Predictions presents a fascinating array of trends, each developing at its own momentum, which will impact UK businesses in 2016. Knowing what will come next in tech, media and telco trends has become a key competitive differentiator and can give your business a leading edge. 2016 promises to be yet another exciting year for the sectors.

Our endeavour is to provide a considered point of view on key industry trends. In some cases we seek to identify the drivers behind developments, such as the expectation that the used smartphone market will surpass £12 billion in trade-in value this year, or that mobile should become the biggest games platform in 2016, overtaking console and PC. In others, our intent is to explain progress, of trends such as cognitive technologies in enterprise software and the potential near-term impact of ad-blockers on mobile advertising revenues. We also consider it critical to examine the emerging trends around new approaches in accelerating mobile commerce check-out, the take-up of network-managed voice over data services, and the commercial launch of virtual reality.
