Currently Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, EMEAA and Group Head of Finance Operations for IHG Hotels and Resorts (IHG), based near London, UK. Michael has held this role since August 2019. As the finance business partner for the Europe Middle East, Asia and Africa region of 1,100 hotels (operating under brands such as Six Senses, InterContinental, Holiday Inn), he and his teams are responsible for driving unit performance and providing FP&A, investment analysis, and commercial and project support. Michael also oversees Finance Operations including the Decision Support Centre of Excellence and captive Finance shared service centre in India.

Having been with IHG since 2003, Michael originally joined the company in the Global Internal Audit team in the UK. During his time with the business, he has lived and worked across a number of markets, including: Singapore, Japan and the UAE performing a variety of roles in the finance function. Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant and graduated from the University of Bristol before starting his career with Deloitte, spending 5 years in the London office working in Audit & Advisory.

Away from work, Michael enjoys travel, running, cycling, skiing and coaching football.
