Creating a Sustainable Workspace: Leeds Office

The Leeds refurbishment has been measured against the Ska rating assessment tool (sustainability best practice for refurbishments), and we are proud to have achieved the top ‘Gold’ rating, a first in Leeds.

This demonstrates that we have refurbished our building with minimal impact to the environment and created an efficient and sustainable new space, but also benefited our local community, by:

  • Recycling or donating materials and equipment removed from the building to local schools and charities.
  • Sustainably sourcing new materials and equipment.
  • Realising energy efficiency savings equivalent to 56,000 desktop computers.
  • Installing video-conferencing in all meeting rooms and cyclist facilities to encourage sustainable travel.
  • Diverting all waste produced during construction away from landfills and recycling 90 per cent of this waste.
  • Using a local company as the main contractor.
