Launch of Quality and Risk Operations centre in Cardiff and Tax Administration Centre in Belfast

Deloitte’s dedicated Quality and Risk Operations Centre in Cardiff is a key support to our firm’s services, helping us to meet the sometimes complex legal and regulatory obligations associated with taking on new clients and engagements. The centre has created more than 100 jobs and we plan to invest £3m annually to support this centre, as it continues to develop. Ross Flanigan, Director of Quality and Risk Operations said,

“As a firm, we are not only creating employment but working with the Welsh Government, bringing new opportunities to Wales and enhancing the skill set of our future workforce. This centre is fantastic news, for both Deloitte and the local economy.”

Belfast is the home to the dedicated Tax Administration Centre. Currently employing 12 people, with plans to recruit 8 more, the Tax Administration Centre focuses on meeting our legal obligations relating to ongoing client relationships to the same high standard that Cardiff brings to new clients.

We have established tax return preparation Centres of Excellence in Cardiff (to support our Global Employer Services practice) and Belfast (to support our Corporate Tax practice). The Centres of Excellence have a strong focus on process innovation and will drive efficiencies through standardisation and improvement of processes. Together, the Centres of Excellence currently employ 33 people (20 in Cardiff and 13 in Belfast). Over the next three years we are likely to create around 100 additional new roles (80 in Cardiff and 20 in Belfast) without reducing staff levels elsewhere. The scope of work carried out by the Centres of Excellence will grow quickly over the next two years and developing the skills of the staff working in the centre will be critical to our success. Clive Dodimead, Director of the GES Tax Return Preparation Centre in Cardiff said,

“The range of work and the opportunity to learn new skills is one of the main reasons that our new staff joined Deloitte.”
