This award recognises an individual/team that has implemented an exceptional talent development programme within its shared services organisation It acknowledges initiatives that foster a culture of learning and development, upskilling employees, and creating a future-ready workforce. This could include innovative training programmes, young leadership development initiatives, mentorship schemes, or other impactful talent development strategies that have resulted in measurable improvements in employee skills, engagement, and performance.
Questions:
- Please outline the talent development programme that you/the nominee have developed within your organisation?
- Describe the target employee group for your/the nominees talent development programme. How did you tailor the programme to address the specific needs and development goals of different employee groups?
- Beyond formal programmes and initiatives, how does your organisation promote a culture of learning and development within its shared services function? Describe any informal practices, initiatives, or leadership behaviours that contribute to this culture.
- If possible, provide a compelling anecdote or success story, which includes a testimonial/quote, that illustrates the positive impact of your talent development programme on an individual employee or team within the shared services function.
Evaluation criteria:
- The nominee will be evaluated on the development and implementation of a successful talent development programme within their shared services organisation, demonstrating a clear understanding of employee needs and a commitment to fostering a culture of learning. This includes a detailed description of the programme itself, its targeted employee groups, and the methods used to tailor the programme to specific development goals.
- The nominee should showcase the positive impact of their talent development programme through tangible examples and evidence of its effectiveness. This encompasses highlighting initiatives, or leadership behaviours that contribute to a culture of learning and development.
Technology Transformation Champion
This award recognises an individual/team in an organisation that has successfully implemented a transformative technology solution within its shared services function. It celebrates initiatives that have leveraged technology to drive significant improvements in, for example efficiency, data analytics, service design, customer experience. This could include the implementation of robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, cloud-based solutions, or other cutting-edge technologies that have delivered tangible business outcomes.
Questions:
- Describe the specific technology solution that you implemented within your shared services function. What were the key drivers and objectives for this implementation?
- Please outline what the main challenges you encountered were, during the implementation process, and how did your team overcome them?
- How did you ensure successful adoption and user engagement with the new technology solution across the shared services function?
- If possible, provide examples of how the technology solution has delivered tangible business outcomes within your shared services function. This should include a testimonial/quote.
Evaluation criteria:
- The nominee will be evaluated based on the successful implementation of a technology solution within their shared services function. This includes an explanation of the technology itself, the rationale behind its selection, and its demonstrable positive effects on e.g. efficiency, service design, data analytics, customer experience, or other relevant metrics.
- The nominee should showcase their problem-solving abilities and leadership in overcoming challenges during the technology implementation process. Outlining, for example, identifying key obstacles encountered, and successful user adoption and engagement with the new technology.
GBS Changemaker
This award celebrates an individual within a shared services organisation who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, resilience, innovation, and a commitment to transforming GBS operations to deliver outstanding results. This individual is a catalyst for progress, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and empowering colleagues to embrace new ways of working, challenge the status quo, and strive for operational excellence. Their contributions have had a significant and measurable impact on the shared services organisation, by, for example, leading a complex transformation project, positively reacting to a crisis/significant event or creating a people driven culture where all are empowered to ‘bring themselves to work’.
Questions:
- Describe a specific initiative or project where you/the nominee demonstrated exceptional leadership, resilience or vision. What was the challenge, your/the nominees’ approach, and the impact of your/the nominees' contributions?
- How have you/the nominee challenged the status quo within your GBS organisation? Provide a specific example where your unconventional thinking or approach led to significant improvements.
- What measurable outcomes or results have you/the nominee achieved through your contributions to the GBS organisation? Please provide specific examples that demonstrate the impact of your work.
- The GBS Changemaker award celebrates individuals who make a tangible difference. What are you/the nominee most proud of accomplishing in your/the nominees’ GBS role, and how has this accomplishment positively impacted the organisation? If possible, provide a testimonial/quote that exemplifies the impact you had on an individual/team.
Evaluation criteria:
- The nominee should demonstrate exceptional leadership, resilience and/or vision in driving impactful initiatives or cultural change in their GBS organisation. This includes clearly articulating the challenge addressed, their innovative approach, and the tangible, positive outcomes resulting from their contributions.
- The nominee should demonstrate their impact on the GBS organisation by providing measurable outcomes and results achieved through their contributions. This includes showcasing specific examples of challenging the status quo, implementing unconventional thinking or approaches, and achieving significant improvements in GBS processes, performance, or outcomes.
ESG Pioneer
This award celebrates an individual/team that is a pioneer in embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into the fabric of their operations and culture. This individual/team doesn't just meet industry standards or HQ policies; they go above and beyond, demonstrating genuine commitment to sustainability, social impact, and responsible governance through innovative and creative initiatives. They are a beacon of positive change, evidenced by tangible results in areas such as employee well-being and inclusion, community engagement, or carbon footprint reduction, inspiring others to follow towards a more sustainable and equitable future.
Questions:
- Describe an initiative showcasing how your ESG efforts have driven positive change for your team, your community, or the environment. What innovative approaches did you take, and what tangible results did you achieve?
- How have you gone above and beyond HQ Policies, and embedded ESG principles into the core of your operations and culture? Provide a specific example demonstrating this integration and its impact.
- Looking ahead, what is one key ESG ambition your organisation is committed to pursuing, and how do you plan to inspire others to join you on this journey?
- If possible, please provide a short testimonial from someone who has been positively impacted by you / the nominee.
Evaluation criteria:
- The nominee must demonstrate a genuine commitment to ESG, going beyond compliance to implement innovative initiatives with tangible, measurable positive impacts on environmental, social, or governance challenges.
- The nominee should showcase how ESG is embedded within their operations and culture, evidenced by specific examples demonstrating positive change.
